Bolivian Independence day in Jujuy

Every August 6th, the Bolivian community in Jujuy celebrates Bolivia’s independence with music, dance, and tradition. For many years, the celebration took place along Éxodo Street in San Salvador de Jujuy. Today, the festivities are held on Avenida Forestal, in Alto Comedero, where hundreds of people gather each year to celebrate their roots and keep their traditions alive. This series is a loving record of that celebration, a way of paying tribute to the Bolivian community on their special day, and to those who, from Jujuy and different parts of Argentina, keep their culture, identity, and ties to the country they were born in alive.
